U.S. Small Business Administration / Office of the Chief Financial Officer - Denver Finance Center

DSG began providing information technology, Oracle Federal Financials, and custom application development and operations and maintenance support to the Denver Finance Center in 2005 which continues to this day. Initially DSG developed a custom application and data warehouse and migrated over 25 SBA financial management applications from dBase III to an integrated Financial Management System (FMS) solution in a Sybase/ ColdFusion/ Windows environment. Subsequently we migrated the FMS to an Oracle/ ColdFusion/ Solaris platform, and in 2021 completely redeveloped the FMS in PHP. We also provide application, web, and Unix and Windows server administration, system security, and help desk support to the Finance Center staff.

 

U.S. Department of the Interior / Bureau of Land Management - National Operations Center

DSG recently completed a six-plus year Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) contract in August 2021. Under ITSS DSG provided support for five task orders:

  • Wild Horse and Burro Program System (WHBPS) - O&M and enhancement support for the application which manages a population of 100,000+ wild horses and burros on Federal lands from birth to grave, adoption, or sale; and which supports BLM's Online Corral portal making the animals available to the public for adoption and sale.

  • Lands and Realty Authorizations Module (LRAM) - O&M and enhancement support for the application, a revenue-generating lease management system. LRAM creates billing data and transfers the information to the Collections and Billing System for tracking, collection, and distribution of receipts for rights-of-way, wind and solar, and other leases on BLM lands, and maintains electronic files on lease holders and permittees, 71,000 authorizations, and bill history. 

  • Web Support Services (WSS) - O&M support for intranet and internet websites hosted at the BLM National Operations Center such as the BLM Application Security System (BASS), SharePoint sites, the Internet Support System General Support System (ISS/GSS) environment and the Secure File Transfer Application (SFTA).

  • National IT Service Desk - help desk support for BLM system users on 10,000 desktops and 1,000 Windows and Unix servers. using Remedy to track incidents and work orders through resolution.

  • Science Permit Application Tracking System (SPATS) - development of a system to manage the work processes for paleontology, general science, and special recreation permits on BLM lands. 

WHBPS support continues under a subcontract with Tuknik Government Services.

 

U.S. Department of Agriculture / U.S. Forest Service

DSG supported the US Forest Service (FS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Business Applications Office (BAO) for five and one-half years. DSG implemented PMO and ITIL best practices while maintaining CMMI Level 3 methodology in a highly matrixed PMO-type environment. Scope included PMO policy development (secure coding, quality assurance, developers handbook, 508 compliance, enterprise content management), project management, enterprise architecture and application development, cloud migration, application portfolio management, OMB Exhibit 300/53 reporting, USFS data center migration to ServiceNow (financial analysis, data center service catalogue, capacity planning, SLA’s, hosting requirements, enterprise-wide QA/QC plan and procedures to support the migration of 300 applications to FS data centers), and ITIM, CPIC, GIS and QA/QC specialties.

U.S. Department of the Interior / Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement

Project: The Coal Fee Management and Collection System (CFMCS) was developed by DSG to replace three legacy business applications (Citations, Audits, and Fee Collection). DSG evaluated multiple COTS and GOTS products performing gap analysis, examining life cycle costs, conducting cost benefit analysis, comparing technologies, development tool sets, and resource requirements. DSG recommended Microsoft Dynamics SL/SQL Server database as the best fit solution.  Recommendation accepted, DSG successfully migrated the three legacy applications onto the new platform on a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) award. The solution met all of the original design objectives, reduced processing times, streamlined business processes, allowed agency reductions in functional staffing of 26%, and reduced O&M costs by 48%.

U.S. Department of the Interior / Interior Business Center

DSG database administrators supported the National Business Center’s (now IBC) hosting of the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM) Enterprise Human Resource Integration (EHRI) web portal and data warehouse. Our Senior Architect/DBA provided enterprise architecture consulting services and recommendations in support of the agency's implementation of Kronos WebTA time and attendance system. The completed system architecture documents prepared by DSG’s architect were circulated as a model of industry best practices in system architecture and documentation.

U.S. Department of Energy / National Renewable Energy Laboratory

At DOE National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) DSG is one of the awardees of a Business and Information Technology Support Services (BITSS) basic ordering agreement (staff augmentation) contract. BITSS scope of services includes: application programming, data integration, project management, cloud administration and architecture, network administration, database administration, programming, internet development, web services, Google apps, SharePoint, cyber secure development and deployment, scientific programming, system administration and architecture, desktop troubleshooting, desktop integration and administration, technical IT consulting / technical writing and IT asset management administration

 

U.S. Department of Energy / Western Area Power Administration (Western)

Under a GSA CTA (Contractor Teaming Agreement) with prime Total Resource Management, DSG supported Western's Oracle Federal Financials R12 upgrade/re-implementation in parallel with a Maximo 7 asset management system upgrade by providing project management, business process re-engineering, functional, technical, and DBA support. Under a separate Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) award, as a member of a GSA CTA with prime CRI Advantage and team member Ernst & Young (E&Y), DSG provided support to the Office of the CFO (OCFO) in the areas of Federal Financial Management, Organization and Human Capital Management, Federal Accounting Standards and Controls, Federal Power Marketing and Transmission, and Oracle Federal Financial Management Systems.


Douglas County School District RE-1 (DCSD) / Application Services Division

On an IT Staff Resources contract for the Application Services Division, DSG supported DCSD's Big Data (state-mandated education performance results tracking) and Cloud (shared services) initiatives, and provided O&M support for the Oracle eBusiness Financials, HR and Payroll applications, and post-implementation assessment and enhancement support of the District's Oracle Identity Access Management system.
